USPS Announces Mobile Barcode Promotion

The USPS has announced a Mobile Barcode promotion from July 1st through August 31st. They have authorized a 3% postage discount for letters or flats that include QR Codes  that can be read by consumer smartphones. They are doing this to increase mail volume and help spread awareness of mobile barcodes. The details are on the USPS website.

Quick facts:

• The promotion runs from July 1, 2011 through August 31st, 2011.
•  Business mailers will receive 3% postage discount on Standard Mail and First Class Mail.
• Letters and Flats only, and must contain a 2-D barcode.
• Mobile barcode must be used for marketing and advertising purposes.
